Job summary

Penske Mobile Technician II in Statesville, NC will diagnose and repair major components, perform PM services, and replace major assemblies as directed. You will work without routine supervision, inspecting engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, and electronics, while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications include 2–4 years of tractor-trailer maintenance, a High School diploma or equivalent, and a CDL with air brake certification. DOT compliance and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Vocational/Technical or certification preferred
• Specialized training in repair and replacement of vehicle components preferred
• Proficiency in the use of shop tools required
• Current CDL license with air brake certification required. US domicile and state license
• Willingness to acquire CDL if you do not have one
• DOT medical card and/or ability to obtain DOT medical card prior to commencing work
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Position is DOT-regulated; driver qualification file and DOT drug screen may apply

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in repair and diagnosis of engines, driveline, electrical, HVAC, and brake systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and reconditioning for trade-ins and new equipment.
• Identify parts required for repair and manage inventories and warranties.
• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions and verify performance.
• Maintain on-site work area, safety, and environmental compliance.
