Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mobile Technician to perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on trailers, containers, chassis, and power equipment at customer sites or rail yards.

You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete fleet maintenance in line with J.B. Hunt specifications, with opportunities for leadership and mentorship of junior technicians. The role requires ability to operate a service truck, conduct safety-compliant repairs, and document work orders

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent education/experience.
• Welding certification and related certifications enhance qualifications.
• Experience with DOT inspections and FHWA inspections is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Oversee recall campaigns and sign off on completion.
• Diagnose and repair ABS systems and refrigerated units; manage lift gates and frame alignment.

The Sr Mobile Technician is responsible for performing complex maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis, and power equipment at a customer site or rail yard using a mobile service truck. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete all fleet maintenance processes while checking that units meet J. B. Hunt's specifications.Job Description:$1,500 sign on bonus available for limited time.Key Responsibilities :Perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on tractor and trailer equipmentOversee recall campaigns and sign off on completionDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ABS system and specialized equipment including refrigerated units, lift gates, and frame alignmentMay onboard and mentor new technician trainees; act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasksFollow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yardProfessionally operate assigned service truck and according to company requirements; properly attend to service truck parts inventoryAccurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established proceduresProperly document damage to company equipment to estimate the cost of repairsDemonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipmentPatch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water-tightPerform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections sign-offQualifications:Minimum Qualifications :18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs with 3 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent experienceAND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesPossess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B.
