Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Trailer Technician Trainee to gain foundational knowledge of tools, shop safety, and air brake systems while learning FHWA inspections and standard repair practices.

Under supervision, you will shadow senior technicians, complete work orders, and develop skills in preventative maintenance, parts replacement, and customer communication. This full-time role offers overtime opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Able to supply basic tools or participate in toolbox program.
• Willing to work outdoors and across multiple shifts including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Shadow senior technicians to learn repairs per manufacturer specs and SRT guidelines.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with staff and customers.
• Develop skills in preventative maintenance and air brake system repairs, FHWA inspections, and parts replacement.

Hunt Shop rules, policies, and procedures. The incumbent will learn to become efficient in, but not limited to, Air Break Systems and FHWA Inspections and the general repairs associated with them.
