Job summary

Whitepages is seeking an Engineering Lead to own our ReactNative mobile experience end to end, setting technical direction, growing a small high-trust team, and pushing our product to feel as fast and complete as our web experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide coding agents, make architecture calls, and collaborate with product, design and marketing to shape what we build next. Seattle-based, remote-first with hybrid options.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading or mentoring other engineers.
• 4+ years of experience with ReactNative, or strong mix of React web and mobile development.
• 5+ years of experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Proven ability to own architecture for a production mobile app at meaningful scale.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools or agentic workflows in real engineering work.
• Strong product sense with impact-focused judgment and autonomy.
• Excellent communication across engineering, product, and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of mobile engineers: set direction, review code, mentor ownership.
• Own ReactNative architecture across iOS and Android with shared and native code balance.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Marketing to shape the roadmap with product judgment.
• Build and roll out agentic/AI-assisted workflows to raise velocity and quality.
• Champion testability, accessibility, and usability as core concerns.
• Own and evolve the mobile CI/CD pipeline and release processes.
• Translate technical tradeoffs for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
• Model operational excellence: reduce debt, improve docs, maintain urgency.
