Whitepages is seeking an Engineering Lead to own our ReactNative mobile experience end to end — setting technical direction, growing a small high-trust team, and pushing our product to feel as fast and complete as our web experience. This hands‑on leadership role balances coding-leaning oversight with delegation to agents and tooling.

You'll guide architecture across iOS/Android, champion testability and accessibility, evolve CI/CD, and mentor engineers toward ownership while expanding toward

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in leadership or mentoring.
• 4+ years with ReactNative or strong React web + mobile experience.
• 5+ years JavaScript or TypeScript experience.
• Ability to own architecture for a production mobile app at scale.
• Hands-on with AI coding tools or agentic workflows in real engineering work.
• Strong product sense and the ability to justify decisions with user impact.
• Proven track record shipping through ambiguity with autonomy and ownership.
• Excellent cross-functional communication across engineering, product and non-technical teams.
• Interest in growing beyond mobile to include backend/services or data work.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of mobile engineers: set direction, review code/architecture, mentor ownership.
• Own architecture of ReactNative apps across iOS and Android, balancing shared code and platform quality.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Marketing to shape the roadmap with product judgment.
• Build and roll out agentic/AI-assisted workflows to raise velocity and quality.
• Champion testability, accessibility, and usability as core concerns.
• Own and evolve mobile CI/CD, automated UI testing and release processes.
• Translate technical tradeoffs into plain language for stakeholders.
• Model operational excellence: reduce debt, improve documentation, maintain urgency.
