Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to travel to customer sites across New York, performing service repairs on bus and heavy equipment. You will follow factory repair plans, diagnose issues, and aim to meet service goals while delivering superior customer service.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license; ASE certification and CDL are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Minimum high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Formal diesel and/or heavy-duty vehicle training preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a mechanic in automotive, school bus, trucking, or heavy equipment environment.
  • Diesel mechanic experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to inspect, diagnose, test, and repair buses or other vehicles and their systems.
  • Skill at following verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of the use and care of hand tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices.
  • Driver's License required.
  • ASE certifications preferred but not required.
  • CDL preferred.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
