Job summary

Bill McCandless Ford seeks a customer-oriented mobile service technician to service vehicles at customer locations and at the dealership. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive systems while upholding our standards for quality and safety.

Travel around the Pennsylvania area is required; you will work with the Service Advisor to estimate times and complete work orders. A valid driver's license and clean record are essential, along with strong communication skills and a team-oriented

Qualifications

• Prior automotive technician experience required.
• Travel around the area in Mobile Service Vehicle is required.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Positive, upbeat attitude for role and customers.
• Excellent follow-up and follow-through to ensure client satisfaction.
• Ability to communicate technical information in non-technical terms.

Responsibilities

• Operate Mobile Service vehicle professionally and keep unit clean and stocked.
• Prepare vehicle with needed parts for daily appointments.
• Complete work orders and written materials per procedures.
• Perform quality work per dealership and factory standards.
• Learn new automotive technologies in training sessions.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose systems using diagnostic tools.
• Prepare accurate estimates of labor and parts costs for maintenance upsell.
• Reconcile invoices and collect payments with Mobile Service Coordinators.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate assigned Mobile Service vehicle in a professional manner and according to company requirements; keep unit clean and well stocked.
• Preparing the vehicle with any needed parts for that day's appointments
• Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures
• Efficiently and accurately perform quality work in accordance with dealerships and factory standards
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in training sessions to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology
• Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Company’s Values in all interactions with customers and co-workers
• Prepares complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts for any recommended maintenance upsell
• Reconciling the customers final invoice with the work performed on the repair order and working with Mobile Service Coordinators to collect any payment due before leaving
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Complete all tasks assigned in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Prior automotive technician & customer service experience required
• Travelaround the area in the Mobile Service Vehicle is required all year round
• Possess Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
• Bring a positive, upbeat attitude to this role and be completely comfortable with customers.
• Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills to ensure client satisfaction
• Must have the ability to communicate technical information in non-technical terms
• Ability to evolve and adapt to changing business needs
• Must adhere to safety procedures
• Must be able to work overtime and/or Saturdays as needed
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
