Job summary

JX Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Service Technician in Gaylord, MI to keep our customers’ fleets moving. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles, perform preventive maintenance, and upgrade components as needed in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of experience in diesel tech, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. CDL is preferred, with a willingness to obtain it.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / trade school or college education in a diesel technology program preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Mechanical knowledge required.
• Valid Driver’s License required; CDL preferred (willing to obtain).
• Attention to detail and dependable attendance.
• Mindset: curious, with an entrepreneurial/ pioneering spirit.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine vehicle condition.
• Perform preventive maintenance, part upgrades, corrosion control, and winterization.
• Repair, replace major assemblies and components as needed to restore function.
• Test engines, safety, and combustion control to meet standards.
• Maintain thorough service records of repairs and maintenance.
• Road-test vehicles to verify proper operation after service.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure positive customer experiences.
• Perform other duties to support business needs.

The Opportunity (Job Purpose):

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):

• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts and performing all levels of maintenance services.
• Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion, and completing winterization procedures.
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
• Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
• Collaborate closely with team members and leadership to continuously cultivate positive experiences for our customers.
• Perform other dynamic duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications & Skills):

• Education & Experience: High School Diploma /Trade school or college education in a diesel technology program is preferred and 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Mechanical knowledge required.
• Attention to detail
• Valid Driver’s License required; CDL preferred (must be willing to obtain).
• Dependable and reliable attendance required.
