JX Enterprises is seeking a Service Technician/Diesel Mechanic in Green Bay, WI. The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel trucks, with a focus on keeping customer fleets on the move.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and either entry-level automotive repair experience or diesel-focused school plus relevant repair experience. CDL is a plus, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • For entry level, some previous experience in automotive repair or heavy-duty truck maintenance is required.
  • For experienced level, diesel-focused technical school program and 2+ years of maintenance/repair experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose vehicle condition by inspections and tests to determine maintenance needs.
  • Test engine, safety, and combustion controls to ensure compliance with federal/state requirements.
  • Repair or replace major assemblies and components to fix vehicles.
  • Evaluate service and parts options to control costs.
  • Perform winterization and corrosion control to extend vehicle life.
  • Maintain accurate service records for transparency and accountability.
  • Stay updated on regulations through ongoing training.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to protect staff and customers.
  • Collaborate with team to deliver positive customer experiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Opportunity (Job Purpose):

Are you ready to make a visible impact? As our next Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in keeping the customer's fleet moving. We are looking for an energetic, solutions-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to grow with us.


Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):


  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to ensure accurate assessments of maintenance needs.

  • Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards, adhering to regulatory obligations.

  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, or parts, showcasing innovative problem‑solving skills and techniques.

  • Evaluates service and parts options to contain costs, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness in finding effective solutions.

  • Controls corrosion and completes winterization procedures to prolong the lifespan of vehicles and ensure responsible use of resources.

  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs, facilitating transparency and accountability in customer interactions.

  • Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by staying updated on regulations and standards through ongoing education and training.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring the safety and well-being of yourself, colleagues, and customers.

  • Collaborate closely with team members and leadership to continuously cultivate positive experiences for our customers.

  • Perform other dynamic duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business


Physical and Mental Demands:

The employee is frequently required to bend, squat, kneel, and crawl/lay on back; reach away from body or shoulder height; climb or balance; lift up to 75 pounds; push or pull; working in areas with fumes or airborne particles; vibration.


What We’re Looking For (Qualifications & Skills):


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • For entry level, some previous experience in automotive repair or heavy-duty truck maintenance is required.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn required.

  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred, or ability to obtain.

  • Dependable and reliable attendance required.

  • For an experienced level, one must have completed a diesel-focused technical school program and 2+ years of experience in maintenance and repair of commercial trucks, including engine diagnostics. Equivalent experience and formal education will be considered.
