Job summary

JX Enterprises, Inc. seeks a Service Technician for our Grand Rapids, MI location. Join a growing, family-owned automotive leader with over 50 years of history and 30+ locations, dedicated to getting customers back on the road.

As a Service Technician, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair trucks, perform maintenance, keep records, and collaborate with a skilled team. We value safety, reliability, and a proactive attitude. Shift: Mon–Fri 8:00am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in automotive repair or heavy-duty truck maintenance preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or able to obtain.
• Dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Determine vehicle condition by inspections and diagnostic tests.
• Complies with federal/state requirements by testing engine and safety standards.
• Repairs or replaces major assemblies and components.
• Evaluates service and parts options to contain costs.
• Maintains vehicle records of services and repairs.
• Adheres to safety regulations and training.
• Collaborates with team to deliver positive customer experiences.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)

• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to ensure accurate assessments of maintenance needs.
• Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards, adhering to regulatory obligations.
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, or parts, showcasing innovative problem-solving skills and techniques.
• Evaluates service and parts options to contain costs, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness in finding effective solutions.
• Controls corrosion and completes winterization procedures to prolong the lifespan of vehicles and ensure responsible use of resources.
• Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs, facilitating transparency and accountability in customer interactions.
• Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by staying updated on regulations and standards through ongoing education and training.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring the safety and well-being of yourself, colleagues, and customers.
• Collaborate closely with team members and leadership to continuously cultivate positive experiences for our customers.
• Perform other dynamic duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business

Physical And Mental Demands: The employee is frequently required to bend, squat, kneel, and crawl/lay on back; reach away from body or shoulder height; climb or balance; lift up to 75 pounds; push or pull; working in areas with fumes or airborne particles; vibration.

Minimum Qualifications
