Pet Paradise in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Resort Manager to lead daily resort operations, oversee staff, elevate customer experience, and drive sales performance while ensuring pet safety and care.

The role requires mobility with travel or relocation as needed; candidates should be able to manage weekends and holidays and oversee a multi-location team. Join a pet-loving culture with strong perk offerings.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a management role overseeing 20–30 employees.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Prior experience with interviewing, hiring, evaluating candidates, and assessing employee performance.
• Leadership experience in animal care, retail, restaurant, hospitality operations, or similar.
• Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Skilled with common computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to lift up to 60 lbs
• Flexibility to resort schedule needs including days, night, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
• Valid driver’s license and working motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead the resort team through daily operations by maintaining standards of conduct, cleanliness, and safety.
• Manage staffing schedules, communicating staffing needs, adjusting schedules based on customer volume, adhering to labor budgets, and submitting timely payroll.
• Interviewing and providing candidate feedback, overseeing hiring and terminations.
• Training and coaching resort staff, delivering feedback and promoting teamwork.
• Recognizing talent and developing staff through leadership programs.
• Communicate with resort, regional, and corporate teams; coordinate with maintenance on issues.
• Ensure compliance with operational, safety, and reporting protocols.
• Maintain high customer service metrics and online reviews.
• Utilize financial tools to analyze sales and address trends.
• Manage labor and other resort costs; maintain inventory within budgets.
• Call customers before/after reservations and handle escalations.
• Organize and maintain policies for back- and front-of-house operations.
• Assist staff with courses and training guides; provide ongoing coaching.
• Deliver annual performance reviews timely.
• Stay on top of emails and communications across departments.
• Maintain 5-day workweeks onsite; be onsite 3–4 weekend days per month and on holidays.
