Job summary

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. is seeking a Rental Field Service Technician to maintain and repair Caterpillar and allied rental equipment. The role requires troubleshooting skills, a valid CDL, and the ability to interact with customers.

Starting compensation ranges from $35.00 to $49.94 per hour with sign-on bonuses: $5,000 for >=3 years of experience; $2,000 for less. Occasional travel to sites and locations is required to support customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years' heavy equipment field experience.
• CDL required and ability to obtain DOT Medical Card.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent driving record and ability to obtain CDL.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on Caterpillar and allied rental equipment.
• Service, diagnose, and perform repairs including oil changes, filter replacements, and wheel assemblies.
• Apply advanced troubleshooting to determine repair procedures on work orders.
• Provide recommendations to swap out machines requiring higher level repairs.
• Interact with customers and answer repair-related questions as required.
• Use CAT ET as needed and reference manuals/bulletins.
• Prepare service reports, parts requisitions, and other forms.
