Job summary

TridentCare is seeking a skilled PICC nurse to work on-site in Flint, MI. The role requires independent work, effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams, and accuracy in documentation and paperwork.

You will participate in PICC/midline procedures and ensure aseptic technique and patient comfort. The position emphasizes maintaining clinical competency with regular PICC insertions, contributing to performance improvement, and assisting nursing and administration staff.

Qualifications

• Must have good knowledge base for caring for central venous catheters.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• 2 years of OR, IR, or PICC insertion experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist PICC (or midline) insertions with aseptic technique and patient comfort.
• Educate patients and families on PICC care and maintenance post-procedure.
• Review patient history and labs to assess eligibility for PICC placement.
• Obtain informed consent and verify physician orders.
• Document procedures, placement confirmation, and medications in chart.
• Maintain device care instructions for nursing staff and patients.
• Support clinical staff and facility rounds with vascular access leadership.
