Job summary

TridentCare is seeking a PICC Line Nurse to assess patients, perform PICC insertions, and ensure proper line placement with aseptic technique. The role includes documenting procedures, collaborating with physicians and facility staff, and educating patients on PICC care and maintenance.

The nurse will maintain competency with a minimum of six PICCs per year and participate in coordination with clinical leadership to support nursing staff and maintain quality of care.

Qualifications

• Two years of OR, IR, or PICC insertion experience.
• Must have good knowledge base for caring for central venous catheters.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and evaluate medical history to determine PICC candidacy.
• Place PICC line and ensure correct insertion with aseptic technique.
• Document PICC insertion, radiologist confirmation, and medications per policy.
• Provide patient education about PICC care and maintenance after insertion.
• Communicate effectively with patient, family, and other health care providers.
