Job summary

Trident Care in Newark, NJ is seeking a PICC Line Nurse to assess patients, perform PICC line placements, and educate patients on post-insertion care. The role requires RN licensure, PICC certification, and BLS, with experience in OR/IR/PICC settings.

You will communicate with patients and care teams, complete paperwork, and participate in performance-improvement activities. Privileges include a 2-year insertion experience expectation and a focus on maintaining high aseptic standards.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree in Nursing.
• Current RN license.
• PICC Certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Must have good knowledge base for caring for central venous catheters.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• 2 years of OR, IR, or PICC insertion experience

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate the patient and oversee PICC line placement.
• Place PICC line and ensure correct insertion.
• Communicate effectively with patient, family and health care providers.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Educate patient about PICC care and maintenance after insertion.
• Support facility staff with PICC-related information.
• Verify order and obtain informed consent for PICC placement.
• Perform timeouts and maintain aseptic technique during procedures.
• Document insertions and radiologist confirmation as required.
• Assist management and leadership in clinical support and rounds.
• Maintain fiscal viability of the PICC program through proper charging and use of equipment.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
