Job summary

TridentCare is seeking a phlebotomist in California to perform patient blood collection at client facilities, primarily nursing homes. You will drive your own vehicle, follow established procedures, and ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling for transport.

The role requires current licensure if required by state, proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, and strong English communication. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

Understands medical terminology as it relates to lab work.
Proficient in phlebotomy techniques including venipuncture and tourniquet use.
Able to identify patients and label specimens accurately.
Strong written and verbal English communication; able to work with diverse patients.

Responsibilities

Drive to client facilities (nursing homes) in personal vehicle as directed.
Follow phlebotomy procedures to obtain blood samples.
Identify patients per policy before drawing blood.
Label specimens correctly with requisition and patient billing info.
Transport specimens following PHI rules and company policy.
Plan draw schedules prioritizing patients’ needs; maintain logs and time sheets.
Coordinate with dispatch, payroll, lab, and courier teams.
Keep equipment in good condition and report issues promptly.
