Job summary

Trident Care in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Phlebotomist to travel to client facilities, primarily nursing homes, to collect blood samples and ensure proper patient identification and labeling.

You will operate under the Phlebotomy Supervisor, maintain PHI transport compliance, document time sheets, and coordinate with dispatch and lab teams; must hold current licensure and valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

• Must have current clinical licensure if required by state.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to laboratory procedures.
• Proficient in phlebotomy techniques including venipuncture and tourniquet use.
• Ability to maintain patient safety and privacy (PHI) and accurate recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Drive to client facilities (mostly nursing homes) using personal vehicle or approved accommodations.
• Follow established phlebotomy procedures and obtain blood samples.
• Verify patient identity before drawing and label specimens correctly.
• Ensure specimens have proper requisitions and billing information.
• Comply with PHI handling and transport policies.
• Schedule draws with attention to patient priorities and timekeeping.
• Maintain equipment and report issues to supervisor.
• Respond to dispatch and collaborate with lab, payroll, and courier teams.
