Job summary

Trident Care in California is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to travel to client facilities and collect blood samples following established procedures.

The role requires valid licensure, knowledge of medical terminology, and a clean driving record for daily regional travel to nursing homes. You will maintain accurate logs, label specimens correctly and cooperate with dispatch and laboratory staff.

Qualifications

• Must have current clinical licensure, if required by state.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to laboratory work.
• Proficient in phlebotomy procedures including venipuncture and site decontamination.
• Knowledge of specimen preservation and proper patient preparation.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; access to a vehicle meeting daily driving needs.
• Good driving record and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Understand resident rights and patient care principles; ability to obtain blood specimens under various conditions.
• Proficient in written/verbal English; able to maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Drive to client facilities (nursing homes) as directed by dispatcher or supervisor.
• Follow phlebotomy procedures to obtain blood samples from patients.
• Identify patients prior to drawing; ensure proper labeling and requisitions.
• Transport specimens with correct labeling and billing information.
• Adhere to PHI transport policies and maintain log records.
• Plan draw schedules with patient priority, complete time sheets and records.
• Work with dispatch, payroll, laboratory and courier teams.
• Maintain equipment and report issues to supervisor promptly.
• Answer company devices on duty and indicate availability for assignments.
• Notify dispatch of future availability; perform other duties as assigned.
