Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy training program completion or certification required, or 12–18 months phlebotomy experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Background in medical laboratory and/or medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to work independently in off-site environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and collect other specimens at physician clinics and home environments.
• Ensure patient identification using two identifiers prior to collection.
• Communicate professionally with patients and explain procedures clearly.
• Label, document collection time and source, and prepare specimens for transport.
• Follow storage, handling, and transport requirements for each specimen type.
• Maintain logs for collections, patient information, and transport.
