Job summary

Trident Care in Massachusetts is seeking a Mobile Phlebotomist to perform clinical pre-analytical lab services in a mobile setting, collecting specimens at client facilities such as nursing homes. You will follow protocols, complete routes safely and on schedule.

The role requires venipuncture proficiency, valid state phlebotomy license and driver's license, and strong communication with patients. Travel and alternating weekend/holiday shifts are included.

Qualifications

• Must have a current, valid State phlebotomy license (if required).
• Must have a current, valid State Driver’s license; car insurance; clean driving record.
• Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations and sterile techniques.
• Communicates effectively with patients, especially pediatrics and geriatrics.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicle to client facilities (mostly nursing homes) as directed by dispatcher.
• Unload phlebotomy tray and collect samples at patient’s bedside as ordered by physician.
• Identify patients accurately before collecting specimens.
• Collect, label, process, and deliver specimens to designated locations.
• Reload equipment and ensure all necessary specimens are ready for transport.
• Maintain documentation and communicate status with dispatcher.
• Adhere to universal precautions and safety protocols at all times.
• Maintain clean work area and monitor inventory of supplies.
• Report unsafe conditions, complaints, or problems promptly.
• Ensure proper specimen preservation and patient preparation per procedures.
