Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking a Phlebotomist in Mobile, AL to join a team with a community-focused mission. You will perform phlebotomies, register donors in IBBIS, and ensure donor eligibility while maintaining high service standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. We offer benefits and a supportive work environment in a nonprofit healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to work varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license and LifeSouth driver eligibility.
• Proficient in computer software applications.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• CDL holders preferred; additional compensation available.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to SOP.
• Collect blood using automated instruments (once trained).
• Register donors for blood collection in the LifeSouth system (IBBIS).
• Determine donor eligibility based on interview and physical process.
• Accurately identify donors in every step of the donation process.
• Assist in recruitment, tele-recruitment and rescheduling of donors.
• Convert donors to automated technology (apheresis) when appropriate.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
