Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers in Daphne, AL is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team. You will perform blood collection from donors, register donors in our system, and ensure donor eligibility with a focus on outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license with LifeSouth eligibility.
• Proficient with computer software applications.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• CDL holders preferred; additional compensation.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to LifeSouth SOP.
• Collect blood using automated instruments (once trained).
• Register donors for blood collection in the LifeSouth computer system (IBBIS).
• Determine donor eligibility based on the donor interview and physical process.
• Accurately identify donors in every step of the donation process.
• Assist in recruitment, tele-recruitment and rescheduling of donors.
• Convert donors to automated technology (apheresis) when appropriate.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
