Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers in Dothan, AL is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. The role involves collecting blood from donors, registering donors, and ensuring donor eligibility while delivering excellent customer service.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. A valid driver’s license is required, with CDL holders given additional compensation. This is a full‑time position with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and LifeSouth eligibility.
• Proficient with a variety of computer software.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• CDL holders preferred; additional compensation.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to SOP.
• Collect blood using automated instruments (once trained).
• Register donors for blood collection in the LifeSouth system (IBBIS).
• Determine donor eligibility based on donor interview and physical process.
• Accurately identify donors in every step of the donation process.
• Assist in recruitment, tele-recruitment and rescheduling of donors.
• Convert donors to automated technology (apheresis) when appropriate.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
