Job Juncture is hiring a contract phlebotomist for Austin, TX and surrounding areas. The role involves performing venipuncture, labeling, and processing of specimens, plus data entry and patient communication.

The position is a 3-month contract with potential for permanent hire and requires reliable transportation. Responsibilities include specimen handling, proper packaging for transport, and adhering to OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification (state-specific) required.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to float to Austin area locations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing assigned phlebotomy duties and troubleshooting.
• Perform blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and specimen handling.
• Record maintenance data and update patient information.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Package, store, and transport specimens per protocol.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries.
