Job summary

Akumin, a national provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services, is hiring a Patient Coordinator for our mobile unit at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. The role focuses on delivering a positive patient experience through registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and coordinating care.

You will greet patients, assist front-desk activities, manage records in electronic systems, and support clinical staff while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state drivers license may be required.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in systems and verify insurance and/or authorization.
• Answer all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner; collect payments as needed.
• May transport patients to/from exam room and assist in transfer on/off the exam table.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with documentation and image delivery.
