Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for our Mount Ascutney Hospital mobile unit in Windsor, VT. This full-time role focuses on delivering exceptional patient care and seamless service, from greeting patients to registering them and verifying insurance information.

You will collaborate with clinical staff, ensure accurate documentation, schedule appointments, and support patients with pre- and post-procedure instructions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state driver's license required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Will perform patient registration in various systems.
• Answers all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• May be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
• May transport patient to/from the exam room.
• May provide the patient with preliminary and post-procedure instructions.
• Will maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Will ensure accuracy of patient records.
• May schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification and/or authorization.
