Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for our Mount Ascutney Hospital mobile unit in Vermont. This full-time role greets patients, handles registration, answers calls, verifies insurance, and supports procedures in a fast-paced mobile radiology setting.

You will maintain accurate patient records, schedule appointments, assist with pre/post procedure instructions, and help keep the unit clean and stocked. CPR certification is required; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology and Oncology.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Will perform patient registration in various systems.
• Answers all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• May be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
• May schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification and/or authorization.
• Documentation: Ensure accuracy of patient records in electronic systems and written documents.
• May transport patients to/from exam rooms and assist clinical staff with procedures.
