Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients' homes, clinics, or other sites as needed.

You will educate patients and caregivers, perform assessments, and ensure safety and comfort while maintaining equipment and documentation for reimbursement. A valid driver’s license is required, and prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service or healthcare preferred.
• 1 year healthcare technician or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and reassessments to support ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including during emergencies.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards, including PPE use.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment per company policies.
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
• Promote company services and products to referral sources.
