Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment at patients' homes, clinics, and other sites. You will educate patients and caregivers, ensuring comfort, safety and independence while following HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, responding to device issues, and supporting reimbursement documentation. A valid driver’s license is required and prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service, field-based, delivery, or healthcare experience preferred.
• One year of healthcare technician, military service, delivery/field service with customer service interaction or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires two years of relevant experience, including one year in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of HME products, services, and regulations.
• Perform patient assessments to support ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Respond to equipment issues, including emergencies.
• Maintain home oxygen systems during patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA.
