Job summary

RED Hospitality & Leisure is seeking an experienced Mobile Marine Technician to support our roving fleet across St. Thomas USVI, St. John USVI, Turks & Caicos, and Key West, FL.

This hands-on role requires diagnosing and repairing inboard diesel engines and outboard engines with a 10/5 rotation; travel, lodging, and per diem are provided. Candidates must have 5+ years of marine experience, a valid US driver's license, and be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience as marine technician or diesel mechanic.
• Proficiency with inboard diesel systems (Yanmar/Volvo Penta/Cummins or equivalent).
• Proficiency with outboard gasoline engines (Yamaha/Mercury/Honda/Suzuki or equivalent).
• Strong working knowledge of 12V/24V marine electrical systems.
• Able to work independently across remote deployment locations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair inboard diesel engines across catamaran, ferry, and center console hull types.
• Diagnose and repair outboard gasoline engines.
• Perform preventive maintenance, fluid services, impeller replacements, and zincs.
• Troubleshoot marine electrical systems, bilge systems, and instrumentation.
• Coordinate parts procurement and manage vendor relationships on-site.
• Document all service work in maintenance logs; update fleet status reports daily.
• Communicate with on-site operations managers and coordinate with shore-based fleet management.
• Maintain a safe, organized mobile work environment; comply with OSHA and marine safety standards.

We are a fast-moving, operationally intensive company and we build careers for people who thrive in dynamic marine environments.THE ROLEWe are seeking an experienced Mobile Marine Technician to serve as a roving fleet-support specialist across our multi-destination operations. This is a hands-on, independent role requiring strong diagnostic and repair skills on both inboard diesel and outboard gasoline powerplants, as well as supporting systems including electrical, hydraulics, and drivetrain components.You will rotate between deployment locations — St. Thomas USVI, St. John USVI, Turks & Caicos, and Key West, FL — on a structured 10-days-on / 5-days-off schedule. RED will coordinate all travel logistics — your responsibility is to be ready to fly on rotation start dates.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDiagnose and repair inboard diesel engines across catamaran, ferry, and center console hull typesDiagnose and repair outboard gasoline engines (primarily Yamaha, Mercury, and Suzuki platforms)Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, fluid services, impeller replacements, and zincsTroubleshoot and repair marine electrical systems, bilge systems, and instrumentationConduct pre-season and post-season commissioning/decommissioning across fleetCoordinate parts procurement, maintain parts inventory logs, and manage vendor relationships on-siteSupport haul-out coordination and work with boatyard partners as neededDocument all service work in maintenance logs; update fleet status reports dailyCommunicate proactively with on-site operations managers and coordinate with shore-based fleet managementMaintain a safe, organized mobile work environment; comply with all OSHA and marine safety standardsRespond to urgent vessel breakdowns and service calls during deployment windowsPASSPORT & INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSThis position involves regular international travel.
