Job summary

Florida Canyon is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic to support surface mining operations. You will perform inspections and maintenance on haul trucks, loaders, and support equipment, including surface drills, and troubleshoot issues.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of surface mining equipment experience, can read hydraulic/electrical schematics, and can lift up to 50 pounds. Strong teamwork and communication are essential, with proficiency in MS Office and SAP.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience with surface mining equipment.
• Proficient reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Office, SAP).

Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post operation inspections on mining equipment and service vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment including haul trucks and loaders.
• Troubleshoot unplanned equipment failures.
• Interpret schematics and manuals to repair or replace components.
• Identify replacement parts and communicate needs to staff.
• Complete tasks safely and with minimal supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mobile Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for various maintenance activities common to a surface mining operation and the associated blasting, loading, hauling, and support equipment, including surface drills.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mobile Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for various maintenance activities common to a surface mining operation and the associated blasting, loading, hauling, and support equipment, including surface drills.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post operation inspections on mining equipment and service vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance on a fleet of 777 haul trucks, 992 & 993 loaders, and other various pieces of heavy equipment and service vehicles around the mine site.
• Troubleshoot unplanned failures on mining equipment and service vehicles.
• Interpret schematics and equipment manuals to effectively repair or replace components of mining equipment.
• Use established systems to correctly identify replacement parts required to complete all repairs and communicate the same to the necessary personnel.
• Complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.
