Job summary

The City of Myrtle Beach invites applications for a PT Mobile Library Assistant to support the mobile library branch and provide friendly information and services to patrons.

You will greet users, check materials in/out, issue library cards, assist with technology, and help with programming and outreach while maintaining records and ensuring safety and accessibility in a dynamic community setting.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED is required.
• Experience in library or customer service work preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist library users with exemplary customer service.
• Efficiently check materials in and out, place holds, renew items, and pull materials for homebound patrons.
• Process applications for and issue new library cards following procedures.
• Operate the Mobile Library and assist with vehicle upkeep and logs.
• Assist with programming and outreach efforts and events.
• Maintain statistics for library reports.
• Ensure patrons comply with rules and policies.
