Job summary

City of Myrtle Beach is seeking a PT Mobile Library Assistant to support the mobile library branch and engage with the community through information and recreation services. The role involves customer service, circulation duties, and assisting with programming and outreach efforts.

The position requires high school level education, some library or customer service experience, and preferred bilingual (Spanish/English) abilities. Evening and weekend flexibility is expected.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED is required.
• Experience in library or customer service work preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist library users with exemplary customer service.
• Check materials in and out, place holds, renew items, and issue library cards.
• Drive the Mobile Library and assist with vehicle maintenance.
• Assist patrons in locating materials and answer reference questions.
• Instruct patrons on library resources and digital content.
• Maintain statistics for library reports and collaborate with staff.
