Job summary

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Mechanics to support the fast-growing North American HVAC business.

The role involves maintenance, repair, and replacement of commercial heating and cooling systems, with opportunities to work on light commercial to large industrial equipment. You will teamwork with Journeymen and Servicemen, participate in STA certification, and provide quotes to customers while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Qualifications

• Member of United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of HVAC Industry of the United States.
• Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team learning system trouble shooting and aftermarket services.
• Minimum of two years Commercial/industrial HVAC troubleshooting experience (rooftop units, pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, etc.).
• Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators on pumps, fans, compressors.
• Able to use vibration equipment to troubleshoot drivelines.
• Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
• Opportunity to enroll in training programs to gain HVAC product and sales quoting knowledge.
• Ability to collaborate with local market mechanics, servicers, and apprentices.
• Attention to detail in communication of problems, causes, and corrective actions.
• Ability to provide quotes to customers and participate in Service Plus Rewards program.
• Self-starter with safety focus in all tasks.
• Universial EPA refrigerants license and applicable state/local licensing; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Provide maintenance and service on light commercial and commercial mechanical equipment; assist repairs with journeymen on complex equipment.
• Participate in servicing centrifugal turbines, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers as needed.
• Pass knowledge examinations and enroll in ongoing training through STA.
• Provide customers with high level of service and practical solutions during commissioning and aftermarket service.
• Provide quotes and recommendations to ensure facility efficiency and upsell opportunities.
