Community Access Inc. seeks a Housing Mobile Team Peer Specialist in NYC to support tenants with complex mental health needs. You will use lived experience to engage participants, develop coping strategies, assess risk, and connect them to community-based treatment and support services.

The role emphasizes recovery-oriented, person-centered care, building trust with participants and their networks, and contributing to housing stability within a mobile multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Lived experience within the mental health system preferred, with history of homelessness and substance use a plus.
• Minimum of two years’ experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders or trauma.
• Available to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; be creative and flexible.
• Fingerprinted and cleared through a background check.
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred; other languages helpful depending on needs.

Responsibilities

• Engage and build trusting relationships with program participants in crisis to support housing stability.
• Provide peer-support services and connect participants to community and treatment resources.
• Document assessments and follow‑up; maintain case notes on caseload within required timelines.
• Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team to coordinate care and support.
