Job summary

Community Access in New York City seeks a Housing Mobile Team Peer Specialist to support tenants with complex mental health needs across our programs. You will use your lived experience to engage participants in developing coping strategies and maintaining housing.

The role emphasizes recovery-oriented, person-centered care, risk assessment, connection to community services, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in recovery-oriented service delivery and person-centered treatment approaches.
• Lived experience with mental health systems and/or substance use services is valuable.
• Trauma-informed approach and ability to support participants with complex needs.
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred to better serve participants.

Responsibilities

• Engage program participants using peer support to develop coping strategies and maintain housing.
• Assess risk and support participants in accessing community-based treatment and services.
• Build trusting relationships with participants and their networks to support recovery and housing stability.
• Document services and coordinate with a multidisciplinary mobile team across NYC.
