Job summary

Transwest Mobile is seeking an experienced field service technician to diagnose and repair heavy equipment on location across multiple states. You will handle diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, with access to cranes and specialized tooling for high-level maintenance.

You’ll mentor junior technicians, document all work, and communicate findings clearly to customers while upholding safety standards and efficiency. A strong toolset and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years repairing heavy equipment, diesel powertrains, or hydraulic systems.
• Expert command of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Hands-on skill with advanced diagnostics and complex fault tracing (CAN bus, ECM).
• Own professional-grade tool set for field service.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulics, and complex electrical systems (including CAN bus and ECM) in the field.
• Complete engine overhauls, rebuilds, and intricate component repairs with precision and speed.
• Operate cranes and specialized tooling to support high-level maintenance tasks safely.
• Coach junior techs, set the bar for quality, and cultivate a culture of collaboration.
• Document work thoroughly and maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
• Engage directly with customers—explain findings, outline options, and deliver clear recommendations.
• Champion process improvements while upholding safety and performance standards.
