Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. We are seeking a Mobile Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty truck repairs and maintenance offsite at customer locations, building strong relationships to drive labor sales in a designated territory.

You will coordinate with Service Managers, advise customers on needed work, maintain safety standards, and document work orders in our system while managing parts and tools

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' heavy-duty truck repair experience.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Inspector certifications required. Engine and Component certifications are a plus.
• Must be self-motivated and capable of working with little supervision.
• Must have a commitment to customer satisfaction and perform quality repairs.
• Must have excellent communication skills. Must have a positive can-do attitude.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
• Class A or B CDL and/or DOT medical card may be required depending upon the size of the mobile service vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs and maintenance on trucks at customer locations.
• Coordinate repair orders with Service Manager and Shop Foremen for task assignment.
• Advise customers on needed service work and suggest additional labor, parts and body shop sales.
• Maintain safety practices and proper care of company vehicles and equipment.
• Create and close repair orders in the system and document time spent.
• Manage parts inventory and tooling on the service truck.
• Call on key accounts and promote preventive maintenance, new products and promotions.
• Achieve labor sales objectives for assigned accounts.
