Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. We are hiring a Mobile Diesel Service Journeyman/Mechanic to perform complex heavy-duty truck repairs at customer locations, build lasting customer relationships, and identify opportunities to grow service sales.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy-duty repair, certifications in A/C, Brake, Engine/Components, and possibly CDL.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of heavy-duty truck repair experience.
• Certifications in A/C, Brake, DOT Annual Inspector, Engine and Component.
• CDL Class A or B and DOT medical card may be required depending on vehicle size.
• Self-motivated with ability to work with little supervision.
• Strong communication and customer-satisfaction focus.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate repair orders with Service Manager and Shop Foremen for task assignment and scheduling.
• Advise customers on needed service work and suggest additional labor and parts.
• Follow safety practices, maintain company vehicles, and report damages.
• Create and close repair orders in the MHC system and document work done.
• Control business expenses and manage tooling and parts inventory on the service truck.
• Oversee operations of assigned customers, call on key accounts, and promote services and promotions.
• Meet labor sales objectives and quotas for assigned accounts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
