Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group. We are seeking a Mobile Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty truck repair and maintenance at customer sites, developing relationships to grow labor sales in the assigned territory.

The role requires at least three years of heavy-duty repair experience, relevant certifications, and strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ heavy‑duty truck repair experience.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications required. Engine and Component certifications are a plus.
• Must be self‑motivated and capable of working with little supervision.
• Must have a commitment to customer satisfaction and perform quality repairs.
• Must have excellent communication skills. Must have a positive can‑do attitude.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
• Class A or B CDL and/or DOT medical card may be required depending upon the size of the mobile service vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy‑duty truck equipment with general supervision.
• Coordinates customer repair orders with Service Manager and Shop Foremen for task assignment.
• Advises customer of needed service work and suggests additional labor, parts and related services.
• Follows safety practices, uses safety equipment, and reports any vehicle or equipment damage.
• Maintains favorable relations with customers.
• Creates and closes repair orders in the MHC system and documents time spent.
• Controls tooling and parts inventory on the service truck.
• Oversees operations of assigned customers in territory and calls on key accounts.
• Works to achieve labor sales objectives for assigned accounts.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
