Job summary

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to engage community members, obtain vitals, and support navigation of health and social services. The role collaborates with Emergency Services and the Mobile Integrated Health Program to reach Cecil County residents.

This grant-funded position emphasizes health education, care coordination, and culturally competent outreach in home and community settings, with a focus on reducing barriers to care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible clinical administrative experience.
• Graduate of Medical Office Assistant Program or national MA certification (NCCA/ANSI).
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Public speaking, group facilitation, and excellent writing skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify social, medical, and financial barriers for patients and families.
• Obtain vitals and perform point-of-care A1C testing as needed.
• Deliver health education to patients and community.
• Coordinate with care team to navigate health and social services.
• Travel to patients’ homes and community settings to discuss programs.
