Job summary

BMH in Maryland seeks an experienced forklift technician to diagnose, repair and overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts and aerial booms. This hourly, in-house role reports to the Shop Service Manager.

You will read manuals and blueprints, dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment, test performance, and perform routine maintenance. Must have own tools; people with a criminal record are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in shop or field service.
• Diagnose, repair and overhaul mobile equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts and boom equipment.
• Experience in dealership settings encouraged for automotive technicians.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoist and hand tools.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
• Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
