Job summary

BMH in Michigan is seeking an experienced forklift technician with 3+ years in a shop or field setting. Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated boom equipment used in construction. Work conducted in-house in a shop setting.

This hourly role reports to the Shop service manager and involves heavy lifting and using trade tools. Must have own tools and be willing to work on site in Commerce Charter Township, MI.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing mobile mechanical equipment such as forklifts, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic components.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints and technical drawings for proper repair procedures.
• Strong hands-on aptitude with tools and instrumentation used in maintenance and repair.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment to prevent failure.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoist and hand tools.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
