Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our hands-on team. You’ll install GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet tech on cars, trucks, and trailers, supporting mobile projects and on-site deployments.

Ideal candidates bring automotive, electrical, or installation experience, comfort with hand and power tools, and the ability to read wiring diagrams. We value safety, quality, and right-first-time workmanship.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow technical instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work around vehicles and trailers.
• 21+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos and notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
