Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our growing team. You’ll install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone with an automotive, mechanical, electrical, fleet, or installation background who enjoys learning new technology and expanding their career with industry-leading fleet solutions.

Qualifications

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Willingness to travel to customer sites.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
Work on light‑duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
Occasionally work weekends or adjusted schedules to support customer projects, fleet installations, or business needs.
Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects, including occasional travel outside your assigned market based on business needs.
