Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is looking for an Automotive Installation Technician to join our growing team. You will install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with automotive, electrical, or installation background who wants to expand into fleet tech. We offer paid weekly overtime, benefits from day one, paid vacation, ongoing training, and opportunities for ASE/I-CAR

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• 21+ years of age.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
