Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions seeks an Automotive Installation Technician to install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers.

Ideal candidates have an automotive, electrical, or installation background and a willingness to learn new technology while delivering safe, high-quality work. Travel to client sites and strong right-first-time focus are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work around vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and fleet assets.
• Perform 12V/24V wiring, power, ignition, ground, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document installations with photos, device info, and notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations.
• Maintain safety, quality and right-first-time installations.
