Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our team. You’ll install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers.

This hands-on role suits someone with automotive, electrical, or installation experience who enjoys learning new tech and delivering high-quality, right-first-time work with safety in mind.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
