Job summary

Prestige Fleet Services is hiring skilled diesel truck technicians in the Omaha area. Join a team focused on hands-on diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance for Class 6-8 tractors and trailers, including brakes, electrical, and engine work.

You will diagnose issues, perform DOT inspections, manage parts, write repair orders, and communicate findings to customers and management with strong emphasis on reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience repairing Commercial Tractor and Trailers.
• Experienced in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Comfortable working with Computers for billing and work orders.
• Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs.
• Confident explaining a diagnosis over the phone and helping the customer decide next steps on repairs.
• Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 6-8 tractors and trailers, including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust, systems, components and after-treatment systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections; service and replace parts like tires, hubs, axles, and lift-gates.
• Write work orders and open/close repair orders on a company device for mobile road calls and in-yard work.
• Inspecting tractors and trailers to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
• Manage service truck inventory and source parts from local vendors.
• Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time.
• Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.
