Job summary

Brightspeed is seeking a Fiber Service Technician-Mobile to install and service fiber connections for consumer customers across markets. The role requires frequent travel, variable shifts, and overtime, with a focus on safety and customer experience.

You will handle outside plant tasks, including pole climbing and digging, while documenting work and supporting sales referrals. A valid driver's license and a boot camp training are prerequisites for success.

Qualifications

• Travel ability to support field work and installations.
• High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Ability to distinguish colors on facilities.
• Ability to handle ladders up to 28 feet and access hole covers up to 150 lbs.
• Successful completion of service tech boot camp training.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and aloft.
• Ability to work outside in all weather and hours.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Professional appearance and demeanor when representing the company.
• Accountability and dependability in load and on-call situations.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration.
• Active listening to problem solve and improve skills.
• Ability to ask relevant questions and learn actively.

Responsibilities

• Install fiber-based high-speed internet for consumer customers.
• Perform maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities.
• Climb poles and dig trenches as needed for installation.
• Manage weekly per diem for travel expenses.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations.
• Assist other technical personnel as needed.
• Support sales and marketing activities and frontline referrals.
